Maharaja

Maharaja

A collection inspired by the grandeur of the kings courts in ancient India.

The collection symbolizes authority and affluence in its colours, cuts and embellishments.

Bold details and striking designs have been incorporated to leave a lasting impression.

In today’s day and time where traditional clothing is mostly worn at weddings SHYAMAL & BHUMIKA have designed a collection for the modern day South Asian brides and grooms.

In true royal couture fashion each embroidered motif has been custom designed for a specific silhouette.

The designers have coordinated the women’s wear with the men’s ensembles recreating a couple dressing concept that used to be a part of the royal durbars.

Colours

The designers have used rich jewel tone colours like onyx-black, plum, mazarine-blue, grape purple, bistro green, chilli pepper red, almond gold, champagne beige and pale gold copper that will make you relive regal splendor.

Silhouettes

Silhouettes have been largely inspired by the Mughal era- Chogas, Kallidar lehengas, Extended yokes, Churidar sleeves and Kali detail on sarees for women and Sherwanis, Short bundees, Kallidar kurtas and Bandhgala jackets for men.

Surface Ornamentation

Deviating from their subtle trademark style, the designers have used richer, thicker yarns of zari for an added dimension.

Motifs have been inspired by heritage architecture and court carvings.

Ornate techniques like Zardozi work, Metal wire embroidery, Zari pita embroidery, Zari aari work, Marodi work embroidery have been used.
