A Mystical Garden

Shyamal% & Bhumika’s collection for Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2014 has a floral feel of a Mysticle garden. A line that is vintage inspired to give a borderline fairy tale feel.

A collection designed with floral inspirations of spring summer festivities with inspirations from the Romantic era, Edwardian details like asymmetrical layering. One sees high necklines from the Gothic era when sleeves lost their volume and became more fitted while the skirt hems were lowered to the floor. Pleats that emphasize this look have been used with firmer hand woven raw variety of silks teamed with fluid fabrics in Grecian drapery.

A versatile collection with haute couture influences to be worn at a destination wedding in a Parisian setting, a red carpet look for the Oscars, a wedding under the Tuscan sun or to wear while tying the knots on a beach in Cancun. A line that may not be very Indian in feel but definitely inspired by the rich textiles of our country

For the fabrics the designers have used beautiful hand woven raw silks and a mélange of sheer embellished nets, silk satins, silk dupions, flowy georgettes and more.

Tone on tone thread embroidery with a hint of metallic thread using peeta & zardozi hand embroidery techniques to highlight the motif. Dainty rosettes embroidered with some shimmer sprinkled & decorated with pearls.

The colors have a dusty yet fresh pastel hue for a very subtle feel that will match a global setting. One sees colors like peach bloom, sand beige , rose dawn , moonlight , dusty aqua , chocolate brown , beaujolais wine and such eye pleasing floral tones in the collection .

The silhouettes have been inspired by the Romantic era , the Gothic era , the Edwardian era , the Grecian era and such . Empire waists & gently draped volumes suggestive of classics, layered flares, tented voluminous skirts , sheer embellished net bodices , corsets , bias flare maxis and gowns.

The collection has been accessorized with some bags to die for beautifully embroidered to a royal vintage feel.Bold embroidered shoes to glam up your evening. Golden flowers inserted in the hair and embroidered sleeves that can make a simple dress look amazing.
